Missouri River Relief hires new Executive Director!
Jami Wade will be joining the team in mid-September
We are extremely excited and proud to announce that our Missouri River Relief team is growing. The MRR Board of Directors and Staff are delighted to welcome Jami Wade to lead our team of Missouri River lovers.
Jami brings a wealth of diverse experiences to the team, and a powerful positive attitude. After an early career as a teacher at Hickman High School in Columbia, she built a series of businesses in Jefferson City, including Capitol City Cork & Provisions and the nonprofit Capitol City Cinema. Her recent tenure as a Development Coordinator at the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri introduced her to communities across the region and the power of nonprofits to transform our world.
Jami introduces herself -
"As a former educator and seasoned business owner, I bring a wealth of experience to my work in the nonprofit sector, where I’m dedicated to driving impactful change and fostering a strong connection to the communities we serve. My passion for leadership is matched by my love for organizing events that bring people together, whether through meaningful conversations or shared meals. Beyond the professional sphere, I find balance and inspiration in the great outdoors—whether it’s camping under the stars, navigating rivers by canoe, or exploring new cultures through travel.
I am so excited about the future of Missouri River Relief and look forward to meeting many of you on the River.

Former Director Steve Schnarr will remain as a staff member at Missouri River Relief and will transition into the role of Communications and Marketing Director. "I'm grateful for all that the Missouri River community has given to me. I feel like I've been training for this next role my whole life and look forward to focusing on telling the story of this river and organization that I love," Schnarr said.
