Missouri River Cleanup with Evergy 2026
Cooley Lake Conservation Area River Access

Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures made for a great day on the river with Evergy! 18 Evergy volunteers joined us at Cooley Lake River Access, where crews headed upstream to work through several cleanup sites before returning for lunch. After a midday break, everyone headed back out to tackle one more site and haul the day’s collection back to the ramp.

Crews filled 73 bags of trash and pulled out an assortment of larger debris, including two refrigerators, a water heater, pieces of a fiberglass boat, an oxygen tank, five tires, and many more. Altogether, the day’s haul weighed an estimated 3,455 pounds.
We couldn’t be more grateful for Evergy’s support over the years. Thank you to everyone who came out and spent the day helping care for the Missouri River. We’re lucky to have partners like Evergy who keep showing up for the river, year after year. Big muddy thanks, Evergy!
