On Saturday, a group of hardcore crew members helped a local landowner with a cleanup along Petite Saline Creek which has been subject to many years of illegal dumping. This cleanup took a lot of ingenuity since we were dealing with some steep banks and seriously large items. Luckily, we had some of our best involved and heavy machinery to assist this project. In just a few short hours we were able to remove 35 bags of trash, 22 tires and a 1940s pickup truck. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to come out and help with the project. ... Here's some more context to this cleanup - In December a local landowner reached out to Missouri Stream Team and asked for help cleaning up his property along Petite Saline Creek. Unfortunately, this stretch of road has been subject to illegal dumping and there were a lot of tires down there as well as some appliances and general household trash. This trash makes its way into the creek, and eventually the Missouri River. The landowner has worked for many years to remove a lot of the trash himself but needed some reinforcements. That's where we came in!

This was so great! Here's Banjo in the tire Muddy Matt collected from the floodplain. ๐Ÿ˜

Good to see that metal on its way to recycling. The more we return, the less we have to dig.

Thank you!!!
